Happiness is

Happiness is a tangle of baby Converse.

I know I say it all the time but I here I go - Friday was a perfect day.

Here's the thing I've realized, these babes of ours seem to have a way of making every day perfect. I'm pretty sure its their magical ability to transform the most ordinary, mundane days into something extraordinary.

It must be the way they look and act like little grown ups with a language all their own. The way they love with all their hearts and have no idea of the consequences of giving so much.

It must be the way they fully embrace every activity they take on and act so serious while at the same time acting so funny.

That's 50 pound of little baby boy love piled into that car. And don't think the little girl of the group is going to miss out on the fun. She will climb her way right in to that bonafide clown car. And it is all good and fun until Lane drops his granola bar out the front window.

These little babes of our soak up every bit of their world. They remind us to enjoy each bite. To take time to eat ice cubes in the backyard on a warm day - because they have never experienced it before and it just might be the best thing ever.

Learning to share - and not liking it - but giving in because he is one of your besties and you love him but just don't know why yet.

And as they sit together and enjoy the ice, us mamas refocus on what's important - just sitting there and enjoying them. I just don't think I can imagine my life any differently.

But the fun really began on Friday when Paola pulled out what I have named the "Wacky Water Weasel."

We stripped those boys down to some water diapers, covered all of them in sunscreen and let them have at the hose.

Lane loved it. And when I say loved it, I mean he walked right over to it, picked up the hose, let it spray him in the face and spent a good hour doing that over and over again.

Taking breaks only to encourage his friends to join in on the fun.

I think the Wacky Water Weasel has found its way in to our weekly rotation of activities. You know, I've been looking for a new name for our Jump Day weekly date since we've moved the party outside. So, with everyone's approval, I now rename Jump Day "Wacky Water Weasel Wednesday" and will continue to call it so until the weather gets cold and we have to move it back inside.

With hopes this little babe lightens up to the weasel. If not, we will just watch him nap in the backyard while his friends run around like crazy around him.

Because happiness is each day with these babes ....

and being a princess.
