Those little red shoes took Lane to the antique auction this weekend to visit with his Pops, who spent weeks on the road and returned home Friday evening.
This age - what can I say about it. One seems to have brought about a new sense of awareness and independence that grows daily. The chit chat conversations we have all day long. His desire to take on tasks by himself. Constant mimicking of papa's words and actions. Long bursts of freedom from mama to play alone. Taking in each and every smell, sound and sight surrounding him - and seeking an answer to those not already known in his world.
He finds his life intriguing - and so do I.
We found a giant ball - that would not budge.
We met two little kids sitting on a bench.
Who didn't care to play with Lane no matter how much he touched the little girl's leg or talked to them.
We met a bear playing baseball.
And Lane showed me his nose.
There were so many sights to look at during the auction but his grandparents enjoyed Lane the most.
