Friday Night Lights

Twelve to 13 more years seemed too long to wait for Papa to sit on the sidelines of a high school football game. So, Friday night, we loaded up and headed to the school where Lane (and Bro Bro) will one day attend ninth - twelve grades.

I know Papa will be proud when he can one day cheer on his sons as they run down the field and tackle their opponents, but his face was shining Friday night as Lane once again proved he's like his papa in every way.

Lane loved everything about the evening: stomping his feet on the bleachers, food from the concession stand, people watching, live music - and most of all the football players.

He'd stare out at the field, fill his lungs with air and then yell, "Oot Ball." He'd clap with the rest of the fans. And, he'd shake his fist at the players, screaming as loud as he could, "Go, go, go."

We left at halftime - my two loves very, very happy. One of them very, very tired.

Now that he's seen a game in real life, he can't get enough. Yesterday, him and Papa spent the day working around the house with football on the TV, while I spent the day resting.

From my perch upstairs, I could hear my babe jumping around and giving players the prompt to go, go, go. Repeatedly.

Looks like football has become our new favorite fall past time.
